Below the menu bar at the top of the window, the remapping section contains a list of currently remapped keys and buttons to restore default settings and display the raw map. Keyboard management is where you can choose a new redirect for the selected key. You can do this using the drop-down menu and the “Reassign” button. The special buttons on the right side of the window allow you to map some (not all) of the special buttons you may have on your keyboard, such as movie playback controls. In the lower right corner, the Pending Changes field shows all changes that will take effect the next time you restart your computer. The full/half teaching buttons at the bottom of the window allow you to switch between the two respective teaching modes. At first glance, KeyTweak may seem difficult to use, but the detailed tutorial provides step-by-step instructions. You simply select the key on the virtual keyboard that you want to change. It will correspond to a key on your keyboard and have its own number. After you press a virtual key, you will see its current mapping as listed in the Keyboard Controls section. You then navigate to the Select New Redirection drop-down menu to select a new mapping for that key. Then click the redirect switch and you will see this redirect appear in the Upcoming Changes section All changes you make with KeyTweak require a reboot to take effect. Then you press the Apply button to apply the changes and the program will give you the option to restart your computer immediately. You can also stop the redirect by clicking the Clear All button. You can repeat this process for any number of keys, defining new mappings or disabling a key’s function. After restarting, your keyboard will be displayed as you specified when using the program. KeyTweak is mostly perfect for redefining individual keys and fixing minor keyboard issues, rather than changing the behavior of the entire keyboard. Note that the changes you make in KeyTweak are global and will affect all users on that device. Full learning mode is an alternative method of mapping selected keys. When you click on the “Full Training Mode” button, a new window will open. After pressing the “Start Learning Mode” button, you can select a key on your right hand keyboard for one slot (#1) and another key for the other slot (#2), then remap #1 to #2. The semi-learning mode was useless because it’s basically the same method as the default way to remap the keys. Does KeyTweak have limitations?
