A beautiful cake knife with a sharpened edge. I’ve used these on soft cakes and fondant, but it is wood so be aware it may struggle with a thick layer of icing. Made with a notched handle for a different look.

Purple heart is a rare wood with a glorious purple colour, that darkens as the wood is exposed to air. Sanded back it has a dark oak colour, and after a couple of days in sunlight it shows its purple colour which then slowly darkens. I was lucky to find a slab of purple heart for sale in West Yorkshire, and immediately bought it.
