TextPad is a powerful general purpose plain text file editor. Easy to use, all the features an experienced user needs. TextPad is designed to provide the power and functionality needed to meet the most demanding word processing requirements.

TextPad is implemented following the guidelines of the Windows XP user interface, so a lot of attention has been paid to simplicity for both new and experienced users. Context-sensitive help is available for all right-click commands and context menus. The Windows multi-document interface allows you to edit multiple files at once, up to 2 views per file. Text can be dragged between files.

In addition to the usual cut and paste options, you can correct common typos using commands that change capitalization and transpose words, characters, and lines. Other commands let you indent blocks of text, split or merge lines, and insert entire files. Any changes can be undone or restored by going back to the first fact. Visible markers can be placed on rows and editing commands can be applied to marked rows.

Frequently used command combinations can be saved as keyboard macros, and the spell checker has dictionaries for 10 languages.

It also has a customizable tool menu and comprehensive file comparison and search commands with hypertext spacing of the text corresponding to the corresponding line in the source file (ideal for compiler integration).
